Foods to never put in the refrigerator
Some foods lose their taste, texture, or quality when cold. Store at room temperature to fully enjoy them!

Fruits and vegetables sensitive to cold
    • Bananas: turn black and stop ripening
    • Avocados: the cold blocks their ripening
    • Tomatoes: lose their flavor and become floury
    • Onions: soften and mold
    • Garlic: becomes rubbery and germinates quickly
    • Pommes de terre & patates douces : l’amidon se transforme en sucre
    • Courges & potirons : mieux conservés au frais, mais hors frigo

    Bread and bakery products
    • Bread: hardens and dries faster in the refrigerator
    • Tip: store in a cloth bag or freeze if necessary

Products that crystallize or change in the cold
    • Honey: solidifies, loses its fluid texture
    • Oils (olive, coconut, etc.): solidify and change consistency
    • Coffee (bean or ground): absorbs moisture and odors

Tropical fruits to protect from the cold
    • Pineapple: loses its taste and ferments more quickly
    • Mangoes: ripen outside the refrigerator
    • Papayas: altered texture and taste
    • Watermelon and melon (whole): lose their antioxidants if refrigerated before being cut

    Dried fruits and spices
    • Nuts and seeds: go rancid more quickly with the humidity in the fridge
    • Ground spices: lose aroma and potency by absorbing moisture

Proper natural storage helps preserve flavors and benefits for longer.
