Valais 2025
Of August 30 to September 14, 2025, Valais becomes the world capital of mountain biking. For the very first time, all major disciplines The mountain bike competitions will be brought together in a single Swiss region: cross-country, downhill, short track, marathon, enduro (classic and electric), pump track, e-MTB and mixed relay. A historic program for fans and athletes alike.

A unique edition in the heart of Valais
What makes the 2025 Mountain Bike World Championships particularly special is their organization, which is entirely concentrated in a single region: Valais. Traditionally, the various mountain bike disciplines are spread across several countries or continents over the years. In 2025, for the first time, they will all be grouped together in a single Swiss canton, allowing spectators and athletes alike to enjoy a comprehensive and immersive experience. This geographical proximity will facilitate travel, provide a more united atmosphere, and give the public the opportunity to attend several competitions in an exceptional natural setting, between lakes, vineyards, and Alpine peaks.
A record Swiss delegation
Switzerland, a true mountain biking nation, will field an impressive delegation: 118 athletes, including 47 women and 71 men. Olympic cross-country will be the most represented discipline with 36 runners, followed by the marathon (34). The Swiss will be present in all categories, with a sporting density rarely achieved. As Patrick Müller, Head of Sport at Swiss Cycling, points out, "the team is competitive in all disciplines, and home advantage could well work in our favor."
