Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
The 2026 Winter Olympics, to be held from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, promise to be a historic event for world sport. This edition will bring together elite athletes from every continent for a balanced and modern program. A total of 16 disciplines will be represented, ranging from alpine skiing and figure skating to ice hockey and bobsleigh. Ski mountaineering will make its official debut in the history of the Games, marking a step towards the growing popularity of mountain sports.
In total, 116 events will determine the best competitors, including 54 men's, 50 women's, and 12 mixed events, confirming the Olympic Committee's commitment to promoting equality and diversity. No fewer than 735 medals will be awarded during these two weeks of intense competition, recognizing the most exceptional performances. The Paralympic Games, scheduled for March 6-15, 2026, will award an additional 411 medals. This edition, both innovative and respectful of tradition, promises unforgettable moments of feats, emotion, and pushing personal limits, all set against the majestic backdrop of the Italian Alps.
