Testimony of a Swiss woman in Gonaïves, Haiti

Testimony from FB (director of a humanitarian school) in Gonaïves:

«"The city of Gonaïves received even more water than during Hurricane Jeanne, which claimed over 3,000 lives. Cars are being swept away by the floodwaters that are everywhere in the city center. Residents instinctively sought refuge on their rooftops, but their belongings and homes have been destroyed. The water has submerged even the lowest houses, and residents have been clinging to the roofs for hours, unable to get down. The water level is not receding. After a brief lull, the rain has started falling again."«

Economically the situation was already very, very difficult, but with this hurricane the population is ruined and discouraged.
