The 2011 Music Festival: a spectacular final day

For the last day of his 30e This year's edition, an unmissable event for all music lovers, has taken over the roads of Paris and across France. Tonight, more than 350 cities in 120 territories will share the concept created by Jack Lang on June 21, 1982.
The event, held in the center of Paris, allows musical groups to perform in public by offering free concerts, and the public to discover eclectic musical styles at the same time. Amateurs, semi-professionals, and professionals can all participate in this grand celebration of music.
Over the years, the Fête de la Musique - to which admission is always free - has established itself as a major musical event in the French-speaking Community. During these five days of musical bliss, artists from all over the world will come together for a total of more than 800 concerts.
From Berlin to San Francisco, French artists are popular all over the world, sharing their songs with audiences who have already been won over. From pop to reggae and dance-electro, not forgetting modern-day rockers, a fine line-up of French artists are travelling across Europe and beyond to celebrate the 2011 Fête de la Musique in style. Even the cities of Vancouver, Chicago, Lisbon and Rio will today be experiencing their first musical night, modelled on the French model.
