Roland Garros: Federer-Nadal-Djokovic – the buzz of the Web
Professional tennis players Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are engaged in a rivalry that many consider to be the most important in tennis history.
The two champions respect each other, and the friendly complicity between them is not feigned. For their part, supporters of one or the other sometimes have difficulty accepting this fair play reality. In recent days, we have witnessed lively forums, if not real debates of opinion, on the web.
Federer: more comfortable with Nadal
Since the seemingly unbeatable Djokovic burst onto the scene at the 2011 French Open (and possibly the world number one next week), journalists have turned to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for their opinions on the Serb.
The Swiss said: "As players, we are very different. Attitude-wise, it's the same. I don't identify with Novak at all. (...) but he managed to achieve something extraordinary with the means at his disposal. He has progressed a lot."
For his part, Nadal is not talking about Djokovic for the moment. However, he becomes more talkative when asked what he thinks of Federer: "Roger is a good guy and a friend of mine at the moment. It's clear that we are getting closer and closer."
For Roger Federer, "Nadal, who is not yet twenty-five, is a legend. (...) For me," he believes, "with what he has done, given his age, and given that he will still play for at least five years, he is the best in history."«
The Federer-Nadal vs. Djokovic saga continues this week at Roland Garros.
