Sport: Federer qualifies for the 2nd round!

According to sports analysts, Roger Federer may not have been as impressive in his final first-round match at Roland Garros, but he still defeated Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, one of his favorite opponents, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7/3). He therefore qualifies for the second round, where he will face Maxime Teixeira.

"The conditions were different from Madrid, much slower," explained the Swiss. "We played more from the baseline," he said. Federer will have an extremely comfortable second round against the young Frenchman Maxime Teixeira, ranked 185th in the world, who at the start of 2010 was still ranked 1009th.

Asked for his opinion on Teixeira's game, Federer replied that he didn't know him from the tour. He actually only watched two rallies on TV when he played Millot. "He won a match in five sets, he'll be tired. But with the motivation, he'll be in good shape for my match. I'm looking forward to playing against this type of player," the Swiss said in the interview he gave to the Tennis Temple.

For his part, the Serbian Djokovic will perhaps be more wary if the Romanian Victor Hanescu, finalist in Nice on Saturday, is opposed to him.
