High Tech: iPad2 launched tomorrow in Switzerland
Just a year ago, tablets began to penetrate the high-tech market. Today, Deloitte estimates that around 50 million tablets are sold each year. Apple holds the lion's share of this market with its new iPad, the second version of which will be launched on March 25th in Switzerland.
As practical and aesthetically pleasing as its predecessor, but lighter (601 grams), thinner (33%), and twice as fast, the iPad 2 now features two cameras, front and rear. Its battery life is advertised at ten hours.
Out of competition
Even though there are 102 types of touch tablets on the market from 64 different manufacturers, Apple's iPad has become the benchmark in the most varied fields: business, academic, artistic, media, and even in air transport.
Present everywhere
Used for various demonstrations, the iPad was ubiquitous in manufacturers' booths at the last Geneva Motor Show. Ford even presented its new navigation system, developed with—get this—Microsoft, on an iPad!
