The star models of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show
With press days over, media representatives are eager to share their opinions and impressions of the 2011 event. In summary, ten models stood out, generating a variety of articles and comments on each of them. Here are the three favorites:
1. The Volkswagen Bulli : a first van of this type was created in 1947 under the name Microbus or Bulli. After attempting a relaunch in 2001, the German manufacturer is back with the Bulli, in an improved version with its ultramodern silhouette, very current dimensions, including an electric propulsion system. There is a good chance that the project will come to fruition.
2. The Ferrari FF: This four-seater version of the luxury car is equipped with a V12 engine connected to all-wheel drive, the first of its kind for this manufacturer since the AWD prototype of the 408 in 1988. The FF actually replaces the 612 Scaglietti. However, this "hatchback" look is not unanimous. Pininfarina's design is controversial.
3. The new Lohner-Porsche
This hybrid vehicle from the Porsche company (the Panamera S Hybrid) is inspired by a creation of the legendary engineer Ferdinand Porsche (who produced the world's first hybrid car in 1899) and it is generating a lot of interest at the Geneva Motor Show. Porsche is unveiling the 4-door Gran Turismo and the Panamera S Hybrid this year as world premieres. This prestigious model draws its total power of 380 hp (279 kW) from a 3.0-liter V6 combustion engine developing 333 hp (245 kW) combined with a 47 hp (34 kW) electric motor, integrated directly into the powertrain.
