"Jewish and proud of it," she said, "I categorically refuse to be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way!" Ms. Portman, the face of Dior's Miss Chérie perfume, had just completed her first contract with this illustrious client.

The past resurfacing

This incident is reminiscent of the time on November 2, 1963, when the niece of fashion designer Christian Dior appeared on television to proudly announce her upcoming marriage to a neo-Nazi.
