Lady Gaga and a previously unreleased excerpt from “Born this way”

While Lady Gaga's album "Born This Way" isn't expected until May 23rd, a dozen journalists invited by the pop star's record label had the chance to listen to several tracks exclusively. They were delighted with the result. In the meantime, here's a video excerpt of the theme song, which gives a tantalizing glimpse.

Real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, the one who goes by Lady Gaga sings, composes, and performs her own songs. A performer of Italian descent, born in New York, she says she is heavily influenced by pop music greats such as Madonna and David Bowie. The famous American singer is known for her eccentricity, which is evident in her shows and especially in her music videos.

She is the first artist to reach one billion views on YouTube. With more than 70 million records sold worldwide, including 17 million albums and 53 million singles, the Lady earned US$62 million between 2009 and 2010.

Philanthropist

En plus de ses activités artistiques, Lady Gaga est engagée dans un certain nombre d’organismes de bienfaisance (non lucratifs à titre personnel) tout au long de sa carrière. À titre d’exemple, elle donna un concert-bénéfice à la suite du tremblement de terre survenu à Haïti en 2010. Les bénéfices des ventes des produits dérivés sur la boutique en ligne du site officiel de l’artiste ont renforcé cette action. Le montant total qu’elle a versé s’élève à 350’000 euros. Elle s’est également employée à sensibiliser les jeunes femmes aux risques du Sida et du VIH.
