Swiss lakes are said to be colonized by piranhas

According to a report from a British TV channel (PTV) with testimony from a victim (in French-speaking Switzerland, probably in Lake Geneva) and the opinion of a specialist from the University of Geneva, piranhas are present in Swiss lakes and rivers. How could these wild and especially ferocious beasts appear in our lakes?

Here is Professor Jack Hison's statement:

"We don't know how these piranhas arrived in Swiss lakes; they were probably imported from Latin America. It may be a change in habitat, but that seems unlikely to me. However, we do not recommend that people go swimming in lakes and rivers where piranhas have been found."
