Record speeding in Switzerland in the canton of Fribourg

On August 6, the Fribourg police published a press release announcing the following:

"A 37-year-old driver was stopped by the fixed speed camera on the A12 at the record speed of 290 km/h on Friday, August 6. His driving license was withheld and his vehicle impounded."

06.08.2010 at 1:21 p.m., the Swedish driver was driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS AM. L’excès record a été enregistré par une radar fixe de l’autoroute A12 (direction Berne-Lausanne).

Ce genre d’infraction au code de la route est heureusement rare, mais le chauffard a mis non seulement sa vie en danger mais celle des autres usagé de l’autoroute fribourgeoise.
