Swiss national team selection after the 2010 World Cup

The players selected by Hitzfeld for the friendly against Austria (11 August, available on our website at Swiss Football).

The biggest surprise is the absence of striker Alex Frei, who is currently shining with FC Basel with 4 goals in three matches.

The Swiss coach is looking for solutions in attack to make the team more effective. They will need to find it quickly, as the qualifying phase begins in September (the Nati will be in England's group (Euro 2012 Qualification)).
