Greenpeace raises awareness about nuclear power in Zurich

ZurichToday The environmental organization carried out a surprise action in Zurich to raise public awareness. At approximately 12:15 PM, about a hundred activists staged a mock collapse on the platform of the tram station at Place Bellevue. National Councillor Geri Müller (Greens/AG) also participated, lying on the ground for three minutes. The activists then distributed leaflets outlining the three danger zones surrounding nuclear power plants in Switzerland.
Each zone corresponds to a different level of danger. Zurich, like Geneva, Lausanne and Basel, as well as most of Switzerland, is in zone 3, where the danger is greatest. Why this awareness campaign? The Swiss Confederation does not plan any specific protective measures in this area in the event of a serious nuclear accident, unlike the 20 km zones surrounding the power plants, denounces Greenpeace, which writes that "Depending on the winds and the weather situation, cities like Zurich, Geneva or Bern will have to be evacuated.".
