The Beaver's Revenge

beaver3Environment In Dresden, a beaver is blocking the construction of a bridge. German environmentalists are happy to have found an unexpected ally: the beaver.
Indeed, a beaver has taken up residence near the construction site of an 18-km road bridge that is to connect the two banks of the Elbe in Dresden. The beaver, which is a protected species in Germany, is blocking the construction throughout May, as the law prohibits disturbing it during the breeding season.

This is not the first time that work has been interrupted for environmental reasons: the discovery of a rare species of bat and protected varieties of butterflies had already caused work to be suspended.
