Doc Gynéco points to the ANPE

Even for former singers, times are hard. Like many other people, at a time when unemployment in France is at its highest (the current level of unemployment has not been seen for 10 years), Doc Gyneco is also registered with Pôle-emploi, as revealed by Le Canard Enchaîné on 4 March. The singer currently receives €83.31 a day. «Yes, I need money like everyone else. But to live... The Belle Époque is over», the rapper nonchalantly confides.

Yet Doc Gynéco explained to Le Canard Enchaîné in 2006: «I've always refused to register with the ANPE: for me, accepting was the end. »Four years later, he has changed his mind: »despite the fact that I'm an artist and perhaps for some people someone who doesn't need it, but I tried as much as I could not to take money from those who really needed it, but in the life of an artist, there are ups and downs,» Doc Gynéco told Europe1.

His last album, «Peace Maker», released in 2007, was not very successful.
