Attacks against Google: 2 Chinese schools implicated

google_chinaThe New York Times reveals that two Chinese schools are believed to be behind the attacks on Google. These attacks concerned around twenty American high-tech companies, and were aimed at stealing application source code, as well as information on dissidents from Gmail email inboxes. Google threatened to leave China and stopped filtering search results.

THE American authorities, and in particular the NSA, have been investigating and resulted in two schools specialising in IT. These are the Lanxiang vocational school, which trains IT specialists for the army, and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

One of the two schools, that of Lanxiang, has denies any involvement An official said: «No sign (that) the attacks originated from our school (...) was found during the investigations».
