Vancouver Olympics: other Swiss results from Thursday 18

Women's Downhill
In alpine skiing, in the women's downhill event, dominated by the Americans Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso, the Swiss did not manage to reach the podium. Perhaps the fact that they only had one training session, due to the weather conditions, was a problem for the Swiss. Indeed, Nadja Kamer and Nadia Styger did not seem able to relax during the downhill, trailing Vonn by more than three seconds. Fabienne Suter achieved a fine 5th place, 2 seconds behind Vonn.. We can say that the Swiss is capable of holding her own in the Super-G, her specialty. She declares: " "I'm obviously disappointed. I made some big mistakes during my downhill, and at this level, that's unforgiving. I was very nervous this morning, but at the start, that stress had already disappeared. Now I have the super-G left to go for a medal."
Women's hockey
THE Swiss hockey players signed their first victory at the Vancouver Olympics in their 3rd match. They beat Slovakia 5-2. Their next opponents are the Russians and the Chinese.
Men's Curling
The Swiss men's national team curling signed a second success in two daysAfter Denmark, it was the United States that lost to the national team 7-6. The Swiss' next opponent will be Great Britain.
