The film that dethroned Avatar at the American box office

C’est a drama that dethrones the blockbuster Avatar. «"Dear John"» by Lasse Hallström, un petit film sur la romance d’un soldat et d’une étudiante released this weekend in American cinemas, it took first place, with $32.4 million earned at its opening.

That was sept semaine qu’Avatar, the James Cameron film, was in the lead, with $630 million in revenue in the United States, and more than $2 billion worldwide.

Actually le film a bénéficié de « l’effet Super Bowl », la compétition sportive la plus suivie aux Etats-Unis. En effet, la diffusion des matchs a vidé les salles diffusant les  films d’action comme Out of Control, marquant le retour de Mel Gibson à l’écran, ou From Paris With Love with John Travolta.
