Microsoft and its smartphone, the Zune phone

Long announced, never confirmed, a Zune phone would be under consideration at Microsoft.

According to Katherine Egbert, an analyst at Jefferies & Company, the Redmond firm could present a Zune Phone that would run on Windows Mobile 7 within the next two months. This revelation will take place either during the Mobile World Congress from Barcelona next month or, a month later, to CTIA from Las Vegas. This analyst is basing this announcement on industry sources close to Microsoft.

This smartphone would have a 720p HD compatible screen, a 5 million pixel camera and therefore Windows Mobile 7 as an operating system. It would also be possible, through software, to connect to social networks such as Facebook or Twitter. It would also be possible to access the Zune Store to download music and videos. The marketing of this Smartphone would begin in March or April.

Après Apple avec son iPhone, Google avec son Nexus One, voilà donc qu’arrive Microsoft avec son Zune phone! Microsoft présente cependant l’avantage d’être le seul à disposer de l’OS.
