3D coming soon to your living room

Avatar democratized 3D for the general public and now manufacturers are racing to bring this technology into homes.

At CES 2010 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, all the major manufacturers are focusing on 3D, revealing TV models ready for sale. Some models can even convert 2D—like in movies or games—into immersive 3D. But of course, those annoying 3D glasses are required.

The first 3D Blu-ray players will soon be arriving in stores this year, and several concerts and major sporting events like the FIFA World Cup will be recorded in 3D. New 3D sports channels have been announced in the US.

The first models will be released at the beginning of this year.
