Gad Elmaleh's childhood

Gad Elmaleh was born on April 19, 1971, in Casablanca, Morocco, into a Sephardic Jewish family. His father, David Elmaleh, is a Moroccan actor and film director, while his mother, Rachel, is a schoolteacher. Growing up in Morocco's economic capital, Gad's childhood was steeped in a love of culture, theater, and comedy, which he developed by watching his father.
