After a fairly pleasant July, albeit with significant temperature variations and no heatwave lasting more than three days, August, particularly since August 10th, has brought a heatwave with several days where the thermometer reads above 30 degrees Celsius. The night of Sunday (August 16th) to Monday was, in some areas, a tropical night where the temperature did not drop below 20°C. Temperatures exceeded 33 degrees in Sion and 32 degrees in Geneva. Higher values, potentially reaching 34 degrees, are expected in the coming days.

The shores of the lakes in French-speaking Switzerland continue to be packed with swimmers and sunbathers. Swimming pools are expected to finish the season strong and post positive figures. Swimming is the best way to beat the heat without complaining…
