American perspective on the geography of the Milan 2026 Olympics
The Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are being touted as the most extensive Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in history. The nearly five-hour drive between Milan and Cortina, Italy, illustrates just how geographically dispersed the competition venues are.
This will create travel for athletes, support staff and journalists, but it avoids the construction of large existing infrastructures at a distance.
