Currently, it alternates between Toronto (2008, even-numbered years) and Montreal (2009, odd-numbered years). The tournament attracts the world's best players and is always of high quality.

Rafael Nadal has announced his return to competition for this tournament where he will cross paths with the happy father Roger Federer who recently became a father of twin girls.
