Patrick Fischer's selection for the Euro Hockey Tour in November 2025
Patrick Fischer has announced a 24-man roster for the first leg of the Euro Hockey Tour, which will take place in Helsinki from November 6th to 9th. The national coach has called up only one newcomer, Davos defenseman Nico Gross (25 years old).
This gathering marks the start of a major season, culminating in the Olympic Games and the World Championship held in Switzerland. Among those called up, eight players play for Davos, but they will be rested during the Swiss leg in December due to their participation in the Spengler Cup (December 26–31).
The reigning champion, Zurich Lions, has only one representative: Nicolas Baechler, while the club will be involved in the Champions League on November 11.
Compared to the team that finished as runners-up at last spring's World Cup, ten players are returning, including goalkeeper Sandro Aeschlimann, three defenders, and six forwards. Reto Berra has been selected to complete the goalkeeping duo.
The Swiss will fly to Finland next Tuesday. Their schedule: Thursday against Finland, then Saturday against Sweden and Sunday against the Czech Republic.
