⚽ Women's Friendly Match — Scotland – Switzerland 3:4
Iman Beney The Nati opens its account, securing an efficient victory.
The Swiss women's national team continues its winning streak! After its victory against Canada (1-0), the Swiss team won this Tuesday evening in Dunfermline against Scotland (4-3), carried by an inspired attack and Romandes in great form.
Iman Beney scored her first international goal, while Smilla Vallotto and Sydney Schertenleib (who scored twice) also found the net. This performance comes at a crucial time for Pia Sundhage, whose contract expires at the end of the year.
After a shaky first half, the Swiss women displayed ruthless efficiency. Following Schertenleib's opening goal (24th minute), Beney restored the Nati's lead just before halftime (41st minute), finishing off a superb team move initiated by goalkeeper Livia Peng. Despite an unfortunate own goal by Reuteler (45th minute), Switzerland regained control thanks to a second goal from Schertenleib (51st minute) and then a sumptuous strike from Vallotto (72nd minute), a true gem to make it 2-4.
Scotland narrowed the gap in stoppage time, but the Swiss victory was never in doubt.
The ten international days thus end on a very positive note for the Nati, with two wins and encouraging signs before the rest of the season.
