Video highlights: Belinda Bencic vs Noskova victory at the Tokyo tournament
Belinda Bencic's Victorious Match Summary
Belinda Bencic (WTA 13) triumphed in Tokyo, winning the WTA 500 in the Japanese capital. The St. Gallen native defeated the Czech Linda Noskova (WTA 17) 6-2, 6-3 in the final, securing her 10th career title and second of the 2025 season.
Reactions after the victory
This victory has a special resonance for Bencic, who reaffirms her attachment to Tokyo, the city where she won Olympic gold in 2021 and silver in doubles with Viktorija Golubic. Returning for the first time since the Olympics, she shone once again, dominating the final without ever giving up her serve — saving 10 break points and converting 3 of her 6 chances.
After a 2024 season marked by motherhood, the Swiss player is making a resounding comeback. Starting from 489th in the world at the start of the year, she will climb to 11th place on Monday. Having already won in Abu Dhabi in February and been a semi-finalist at Wimbledon, Bencic confirms that she is back at the highest level.
And the season is not over: registered for the Hong Kong tournament, where she will be seeded number 1, she will start against the Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovic (WTA 109).
A 2025 season that is already historic for Bella's mother, between rebirth and mastery.
