Noe Seifert achieves historic feat at the World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta: Bronze medal in the all-around competition
Noe Seifert wrote a new page in the history of Swiss gymnastics by winning the bronze medal during the general competition of the World Gymnastics Championships has Jakarta. This is the first time since 1950 that a Swiss gymnast reaches the podium in this prestigious event.

HAS 26 years old, L'’Aargau has established itself as a global reference. After taking the 2nd place during the qualifications, he confirmed his form in the final by showing himself to be extremely solid and consistent on the six apparatus. Another Swiss, Florian Langenegger, also carried out a remarkable performance, ending 10th of the competition. This Swiss double in the top 10 of the World Championships is a historic event, because it has not happened since 75 years old !
Impressive run for Seifert after Leipzig disappointment
Noe Seifert took a resounding revenge after his frustration to 2023 European Championships in Leipzig, where he had finished 1st in qualifying before settling for one 6th place disappointing in the final, missing out on bronze due to a missed landing on the last apparatus.
During the final of the Jakarta World Championships, Seifert made an impression with a total of 82,831 points. There victory returned to Japanese Daiki Hashimoto, Olympic champion in 2021, with 85,131 points. He is just ahead of the Chinese. Zhang Boheng (2nd, 84,331 points).
A historic podium for Switzerland
Florian Langenegger also achieved a good performance with a total of 79,599 points, ending 10th and thus confirming the level of Swiss gymnastics on the world stage.
Historical : the last time a Swiss had appeared on the podium of the World Championships during the men's general competitiongoes back to 1950 has Basel, Or Walter Lehmann had won the gold medal, followed by Marcel Adette in 2nd place.
