Champions League: Barça – Olympiacos 6-1, Lopez hat-trick
Football – Champions League. FC Barcelona gave Olympiacos no chance, winning 6-1 on Tuesday night at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. Fermin Lopez, who scored a hat-trick, was the architect of the Catalan victory.
The 22-year-old Spaniard quickly put his team on the right track by scoring two goals in the first half (7th, 39th), before completing his hat trick in the 76th minute. In between, young Lamine Yamal converted a penalty (68th), and Marcus Rashford, back in form, bagged a quickfire brace (74th, 79th).
The Greeks had briefly revived the suspense when El Kaabi reduced the deficit from the penalty spot (54th minute). But that hope was quickly dashed: Swiss referee Urs Schnyder sent off Santiago Hezze for a second yellow card deemed harsh, leaving Olympiakos with ten men for the final half-hour.
With a numerical advantage, Hansi Flick's men cruised to victory and secured their second European win of the season, bouncing back perfectly after their 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
Still without Camp Nou, which is undergoing renovation, the Blaugrana offered their Montjuïc supporters an offensive festival that may finally launch their continental campaign.

Firmin Lopez therefore scored a hat trick, and he was accompanied by a brace from Rashford and a goal from Lamine Yamal.

The match statistics were fairly typical, with Barcelona enjoying nearly 70% possession and 3 minutes of total possession. It's worth noting the efficiency of the Barça players, who had 7 shots on target and scored 6 goals.
