Gad Elmaleh est né le 19 avril 1971 à Casablanca, au Maroc, dans une famille juive séfarade. Son père, David Elmaleh, acteur et réalisateur, influence fortement son enfance, marquée par une immersion dans l’univers du théâtre. À 18 ans, il quitte le Maroc pour Paris où il commence sa carrière dans la comédie. Rapidement, son talent pour les imitations et son charisme lui permettent de se faire un nom sur scène, avant de s’impliquer dans le cinéma, alliant ses racines marocaines à un humour universel qui le rend célèbre en France.
