Video and RTS commentary on Ditaji Kambundji's gold medal race

Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships Women's 100m Hurdles on September 15

Thunderclap at the Tokyo World Championships: Ditaji Kambundji is the 100m hurdles world championAt just 23 years old, the Bernese woman dominated the final to win in 12''24, smashing his own Swiss record by 16 hundredths.

In a race of exceptional level, the youngest of the Kambundji family beat the Nigerian Tobi Amusan(12''29), world record holder, and the American Grace Stark (12''34), who had beaten her again in the semi-final. But in the final, there was no contest.

Explosive at the start, Ditaji crossed the first hurdles perfectly, carried by a reaction time of 0''146, the second fastest in the peloton. Enough to set a dizzying time that brings her dangerously close to Amusan's world record (12''12).

With this global title and new record, Ditaji Kambundji establishes herself among the greatest in the sport. And the most impressive thing is that she's only 23 years old.
