In Mollis, in the heart of the canton of Glarus, the 2025 Federal Wrestling and Alpine Games Festival opens in a solemn yet popular atmosphere. As is traditional, the official anthem resounds in the arena before the competition begins, bringing together tens of thousands of spectators in a moment of national communion. The ancestral rituals are respected: the wrestlers enter in their traditional attire, folk songs, alphorns, and Swiss flags rise above the arena.

The competition program follows the usual rhythm, with two full days of Swiss wrestling matches where the best athletes compete until the final on Sunday. Around wrestling, the Alpine Games complete the event: stone throwing, hornuss, and strength jousting showcase Swiss sporting culture. Each day is punctuated by festive moments, popular music, and local gastronomy, making the 2025 edition in Mollis much more than a competition: a true celebration of Swiss identity.
