Will Grisons host the Olympic Games?

Switzerland could bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. One location seems to be emerging as the frontrunner: Graubünden. But it is the residents who will decide the future of this bid. Three votes are scheduled for March 3: one at the cantonal level, and the others in the municipalities of Davos and St. Moritz. If the public vote is favorable, Switzerland is prepared to invest in the revitalization of Graubünden. More than 900 million francs would be invested in roads and railways, with 80 to 851 million francs covered by the federal government. This project would also revitalize tourism and make Graubünden more attractive on a national level. Ueli Maurer, President of the Confederation and Minister of Sport, participated in the discussions and personally reassured the public, demonstrating that this project would be a considerable asset for Graubünden.
