Cylones in Haiti

According to the latest figures released on Friday, the Haitian Civil Protection Directorate reported 793 people killed during the severe weather in Haiti in August and September.

Most of the victims were counted in the city of Gonaïves: 466 dead, according to officials, in the region where MSF discovered the submerged village.

The latest hurricane report for Haiti, released Friday by the Civil Protection agency, lists 310 people missing, more than 500 injured, and 16,335 families affected. A typical Haitian family consists of at least five people.

«Our teams were able to reach Mamont on September 30, a group of villages southeast of Gonaïves (north). The inhabitants of this locality have been completely isolated for four weeks,» MSF reported in a statement.
