PSY overtakes Bieber on YouTube

It's now official! South Korean rapper PSY has just dethroned teenager Justin Bieber on YouTube.

In fact, for several weeks now, the number of views ofPSY’s “Gangnam Style” music video was getting (dangerously) close to Justin Bieber's: Baby, who had held the record for just over two years.

So today the Korean's counter passed that of the Canadian with 806 million views compared to 803 million for the teen.

Gangnam therefore holds the record for the most views on YouTube and all this in record time since the clip was released on July 15th.

But that's not all! If you've been looking at the counter, you may have noticed that it's increasing very quickly (at the beginning of the week, it was "only" at 780 million, whereas it only exceeded 5 million views at the beginning of September) and could well pass the billion view mark quite quickly.

Even though we only know one song by PSY, he has already gone on tour around the world to make the public dance to his famous "horse dance" and has reportedly brought in nearly $14 million to the South Korean music industry.

Even though the song has been at the top of the charts for a while now, the success doesn't seem to be waning, and good for him!
