80 million users for Instagram

Instagram is undoubtedly the most successful app of the year. It was already well-known among iPhone users, and its availability on Android only accelerated its success. While Facebook's billion-dollar acquisition of Instagram caused a bit of a stir, its success hasn't faded.

Instagram recently broke a new record by crossing the symbolic threshold of 80 million users. This number obviously makes it the most "populated" mobile social network.

And good news for Windows Phone 7 users, it seems that the developers at Instagram are working on a version for Microsoft's OS.
