Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Caribbean. It had already been severely affected by heavy rains in 2004; thousands of people perished.

Some projects carried out by our partner organizations have been affected.
Faced with this dramatic situation, the Swiss Solidarity Foundation receives  donations  in support of the victims on his account (Caribbean mention)

The Huracan 'Ike' has passed by Haiti loaded with wind and much water and has been lifted by nearby houses and roads. Altogether 48 people were killed, 13 of our children. A trágico balance for a country of luto that todavía contaba the deaths occasioned by the huracán 'Hanna'. In total, the torments that came from the Caribbean have already killed 295 people in Haiti. In the city of Gonaives, the water exceeds the altitude metros in the streets five days after being cast by 'Hanna'.
