BlackBerry 10 keyboard coming to iPhone soon?

If you missed the BlackBerry news, no problem, here's a rundown. RIM (or BlackBerry, in other words), recently announced its new operating system: BlackBerry 10. Obviously, there are plenty of new features in there to delight fans of this phone. Unfortunately, this version of the OS won't normally be able to be installed on older BlackBerrys. But let's focus on one of the new features, namely the new virtual keyboard.

RIM has in fact invented a new type of keyboard which is intended to be easier to use and certainly faster.

In a few words, to make the keyboard easier to use, BlackBerry version 10 will suggest words, not in a bar above the keyboard like Android, but on the key of one of the letters. It's very intuitive because as you type the letters, possibilities are added or disappear on the appropriate letters (a suggested word will obviously be placed on a letter that goes with it, like the next one to type for example). And to choose the word, and therefore avoid having to type all the letters, you will simply have to touch and move your finger up from letter to letter.

Following this brilliant idea, a developer has just released a video showing the same BlackBerry 10 virtual keyboard (called Octopus Keyboard) on an iPhone. Here's the iPhone demo:

And good news since this developer announces a planned release on the Cydia Store soon. Suffice to say that this tweak will be a direct success if it shows no bugs. Let's also hope that a French version comes out soon after because in English it's good for showing off but it won't be of much use in everyday life I think!
