French Presidential Elections: How to Get Final Results and Details
We were able to bring you the results of the French presidential elections first, as other French-speaking countries are not subject to the French law that prohibits them from doing so before 6:00 PM this evening (under penalty of a €75,000 fine). However, the newspaper Libération decided to break the rules by publishing the final results before the appointed time.
On webzines
To obtain more details as well as the final results (votes by candidate, by municipality, etc.), you can register on webzines such as www.20minutes.ch, www.lemonde.fr, on www.lepoint.fr or on www.leparisien.fr, to receive this information by email as soon as it becomes available.
On social networks
Through major social media platforms, especially Twitter, more details about the results of polls and exit polls are available to Internet users. Some users even use coded messages (sometimes a bit too complicated) to avoid getting into trouble.
On specialized sites
By visiting the website www.elections-presidentielles.com, you will have access to a wealth of live information, provided you are registered on Twitter. The same goes for the website www.sondagepresidentielle.fr, which specializes in polls related to the current election.
Note :
The latest polls agree that Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande (well ahead of the other candidates) should face off in the decisive second round on May 6.
